Tri-athalon season is upon us, the Tour Down Under (and the Mutual Community Challenge Ride are a round the corner, the grape-vines are in full summer green along the Shiraz trail, and the best beaches in the are accessed best by mountain bike (ask us for more detail).

Team Ballistic Win Again!

Oxygen Cycles supported Team Ballistic has continued to defend it's unbeaten record in the HPV super-series 6 hour races, by setting a new record 141 laps on the Elizabeth Park track. Off the top of my head that's the 9th consecutive 6 hour win and fourth victory in a row! This was probably the narrowest winning margin so far, with Deakin University's carbon fibre "Phantom" holding on to finish with the same lap count.

Get your winter gear at Oxygen Cycles

Yo, cold, damp, feeling invisible in the fog.... Never fear, we have new arrivals of Sugoi, Cannondale and Netti winter cycling apparel. In Japanese 'Sugoi' roughly translates to "super-cool", but here it translates to "toasty-warm". Our Cannondale clothing includes the ultra-amazing 'Morpheus' shell, which transforms from a water proof longsleeve jacket into a very breathable windblocker vest.

And skinny road tyres not giving you confidence in the wet, but mountain bikes are not your thing. Take a look at the Kona 'Jake the Snake" cyclocross machine. For those of us who have never seen cyclo-cross racing, these bikes have the aerodynamics and climbing abilities of a roadie, but with a few differences that let them go almost anywhere in almost any condition.

Fun, Fun, Fun...

We're still here. Things have been ticking over nicely. Looking forward to the BikeSA 24 hour Dirty Weekend, no silly solo antics this year, looking at taking more of a relaxed approach with a team of not so serious racers. Still, we'll put some stryle down and hopefully come up with a few good lap-times.

Nothing else really new here. We're4 now stocking Netti Traiathalon gear as well as cycling specific clothing. And we've added to our touring side of things with a hefty selection of Schawble heavy duty tyres.

Oh, yeah, did I mention that it's harvest time in Mclaren Vale and this years' vintage should produce some excellent full bodied reds. Making it well worth spending a day riding beween cellar doors.

Tour Down Under Whizzes By...

Last week's Tour Down Under was wild. Not only was the racing unpredictable but so was the weather. Phil Liggett has never seen rain here in January and I've never seen so much rain here in summer. Big claps to Karl Menzies for rocking the Adelaide hills with his System 6. Cannondale sponsored riders look set to make a big splash this year, I can't wait for the Giro!
